Meet Our Team

 Mrs. Rocha serves as the Community Engagement Specialist for Legends Virtual Academy. In this role, she supports students, families, and staff by strengthening school community, engagement, and communication across multiple platforms. Mrs. Rocha leads schoolwide initiatives such as orientations, family engagement events, spirit weeks, virtual activities, newsletters, website updates, and social media outreach to help families feel informed, connected, and supported.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources and brings a strong background in student support, virtual education, and community-focused programming. Mrs. Rocha is passionate about creating meaningful connections in a virtual school environment and ensuring families know where to find resources, support, and opportunities to engage.

Outside of work, she enjoys creative projects, writing, and spending time with her family. She is excited to continue building a welcoming, engaging school community at Legends Virtual Academy.

Mrs. Colleen Sims is an experienced educator with over seven years of teaching experience, including time spent teaching fourth grade in a traditional classroom setting. She is proud to call Dothan, Alabama home, where she lives with her husband, their son, and their Goldendoodle.

Mrs. Sims earned her bachelor’s degree from Troy University in 2017 and later completed her master’s degree at the University of West Alabama. She brings a strong passion for student learning and is excited to support students in a virtual learning environment.

Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Sims enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and baking. She is thrilled to be joining the Stride K12 community and looks forward to a successful school year.

Mrs. Allen has been an educator for over 16 years, including over seven years of experience in virtual education. She brings a strong passion for supporting students in online learning environments and helping them succeed academically.

Outside of school, Mrs. Allen enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, and exploring new restaurants. She and her husband have four adult children and eight grandchildren.

Mrs. Wilson has taught for over 30 years and brings extensive experience to the field of education. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology Education with a minor in Mathematics from the University of Southern Mississippi and holds a Master of Science degree in Math and Science Education. She previously achieved National Board Certification and brings a strong foundation in instructional excellence to her work.

With more than five years of experience teaching in a virtual learning environment, Mrs. Wilson is passionate about online education and continues to grow her practice in this setting. She is certified to teach in multiple states, including Alabama and Mississippi, where she currently resides.

Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Wilson enjoys spending time with her family, including her two adult children and grandson. In her free time, she enjoys home improvement shows, crime dramas, and science fiction.

Mrs. Rogers has over eight years of experience teaching in a traditional classroom setting. Education runs deep in her family, with multiple generations—including her mother, grandmothers, siblings, and husband—having careers in the education field. She is excited to transition into the virtual learning environment at Legends Virtual Academy and looks forward to engaging with students and collaborating with colleagues as she begins this new chapter.

Mrs. Mcculloch is an experienced educator with over six years of teaching experience and is excited to join Legends Virtual Academy as a high school math teacher. She is passionate about helping students build confidence in mathematics and supporting their academic success in an engaging virtual learning environment.

Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Mcculloch enjoys spending time with her family. She lives with her husband, Matthew, their two young sons, and their family puppy, Winston.

Tandy Shumate is a veteran educator with over 26 years of experience in education. She holds a bachelor’s degree in education with certifications in Social Science and English, as well as a master’s degree in Educational Leadership.

Throughout her career, Mrs. Shumate has served in both instructional and leadership roles, supporting students across a variety of learning environments, including virtual education. She has played a key role in the development and support of programs serving diverse and at-risk student populations.

Mrs. Shumate is excited to join Legends Virtual Academy and looks forward to partnering with students, families, and staff to support student success.
